Support for Matt Moates Children

Even though Matt and Lyndsay had been together for over 12 years, it seemed as though their lives were just getting started. They recently purchased a new home, the kids were off to school and a retirement was right around the corner. The future was so bright for Matt and Lyndsay, but on Tuesday January 19th 2021 her husband Matt passed away suddenly and unexpectedly while on a jog in their neighborhood. 

Matt was an accomplished soldier and a dedicated father and husband. Matt’s family and friends meant the world to him and he always found a way to show them. Beyond his family, Matt has touched many lives. He was a selfless man who dedicated his career to building people up with his strength and positivity. Matt was a leader and a mentor who will always be remembered for his service to this country and his commitment to making some else’s life better. I know I am not speaking for myself when saying that knowing Matt was a great honor.

Matt’s children were his pride and joy. They were his top priority. He was so proud of them and all of their wonderful accomplishments. They are both incredibly gifted students. Lucas is a freshman at Ohio State University and Jackie is a sophomore at Notre Dame Academy in Toledo Ohio. 

Matt would want nothing more than to make sure his children’s lives remained unchanged during this difficult time. In honor of our friend, we are setting up a fund to ensure that Lucas and Jackie are able to continue their studies without any financial burden. While the military has provided Lucas and Jackie with funds to attend college, there will still be some financial hardships. With that being said , all funds raised will toward their immediate expenses. These funds will be managed by Lyndsay.
